State Grid Jinchang Power Supply Company promotes innovation-driven development of region’s power grid

As of the end of the first quarter of 2024, State Grid Jinchang Power Supply Company in Gansu province has completed the grid connection of five 330-kilovolt new energy power collection stations, eight 110-kV booster stations, 15 photovoltaic power stations, two wind farms and one independent shared energy storage station. This has added a grid-connected capacity of 2.55 million kilowatts, with an installed capacity of 5.46 million kilowatts. The proportion of new energy installed capacity accounted for 75.27 percent of the total installed capacity.

Based on the practical situation, State Grid Jinchang Power Supply Company is accelerating the digitalization and intelligent transformation of the power grid, and promoting the application of new technologies and equipment. The company is strengthening the construction and management of regional control devices and promoting the first panoramic monitoring system in the country to be used in Jinchang city. While at the same time expanding the power grid security defense to the new energy units. The company is also enhancing collaborative innovation to better share the network source information. The innovation-driven achievements such as double glazed glass photovoltaic panels and SVG tracking devices are also encouraged to be used in daily work. The company is also promoting the construction of new equipment such as rapid switching devices, regional backup automatic switches, fast switches and current-limiting reactors.
