Smart driving is gaining momentum in China as a growing number of NEV drivers are getting accustomed to such functions.

At first they did not dare to use the functions but gradually their fear is gone and finally they have taken to them, said Seres Chairman Zhang Xinghai at the World Intelligence Expo on Thursday.

Statistics from Gasgoo Institute show that a total of 3.7 million passenger NEVs were sold in China in 2023, of which 51 percent were equipped with Level 2 or above functions.

Seres designs and produces AITO-branded electric vehicles in collaboration with Huawei, which boasts an edge in smart driving. The two companies have launched three models in the market.

Zhang said that the AITO-branded vehicles combined have finished around 265 million km of smart driving, with around 2.35 million added a day. Meanwhile, the company has offered around 1.4 million updates over the air to its vehicles.
