Shanghai airport group unveils first brand day

The Shanghai Airport (Group) Co Ltd launched its first brand day on Saturday in celebration of its 103rd anniversary.

“The Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport was completed and put into operation 103 years ago, and in over a century, we have seen it grow as big as two airports and handling more than 100 million passenger trips and over 4 million tons of cargo per year, with its flight network reaching 281 destinations in 48 nations worldwide,” said Qin Yun, chairman of the Shanghai Airport (Group) during the launching ceremony of the brand day on Saturday.

“With the further expansion of the group, Shanghai airports will have a capacity of transporting 220 million passenger trips and 7.4 million tons of cargo volume by 2035,” Qin said.

According to Qin, apart from continuous expansion in the scale, the group also strives to enhance its soft power and competitiveness. The brand day is one of the efforts in offering more diversified services of culture, commerce, and traveling experience.

Two-month-long series activities featuring culture, commerce, and service will be launched during the summer, Qin added.
